# Clab Estimator

**Clab Estimator** helps you estimate fabric consumption for a pattern and review the proposed piece placements. Availability depends on your active subscription.

## Prepare an estimate

1. Open the pattern and review its [Piece Options](/manage-a-project/piece-options.md), including quantities and materials.
2. Select **Clab Estimator** from the preview toolbar.
3. Choose the materials to include.
4. Configure the size runs and the fabric **Width**, **Offset**, and **Gap** for each material.
5. Click **Run estimation**.

You can use **Stop estimation** to stop a run in progress.

## Review the results

The results table shows the placed pieces, estimated length, efficiency, and processing time for each material.

Select **Placements Review** to inspect the layout. Check the results against your fabric and production requirements when planning consumption.

## Export and revisit estimates

After results are available, click **Export** to download the Excel report.

Use **History** to review previous estimates for the project.
