# Piece Options

Use **Piece Options** to configure the pieces in your pattern. These settings affect how the pieces are imported into your CAD software.

1. Open a configured pattern and select **Piece Options** in the preview toolbar.
2. Find the piece you want to configure.
3. Adjust the available options:
   * **Mirroring** — choose the mirroring setting for pieces that support it.
   * **Quantity** — set the number of copies required.
   * **Material** — choose the material assigned to the piece.
4. Click **Save settings**.

The options shown depend on the selected pattern and the capabilities of each piece.

Use **Restore All Defaults** to return the options to their default values, then save the settings.

## Configure one piece from the preview

In an editable project, exit point editing and Grading mode, then double-click a piece to open its options panel.

1. Adjust the available **Mirroring**, **Double**, **Quantity**, or **Material** settings.
2. Choose **Save** to apply the options to that piece.

**Reset** restores the panel's current saved values. **Restore Default** prepares the piece's default values; choose **Save** to apply them.

The panel applies to one piece only. Selecting another piece, adding a second piece to the selection, or clearing the selection closes it without saving draft changes. Selecting the original piece again does not reopen it; double-click it to open its options again.

Before [running a fabric estimate](/manage-a-project/clab-estimator.md), review piece quantities and material assignments so the estimate uses the intended configuration.
